Rosa Brooks

Rosa Brooks is a professor of law at Georgetown University, a Fellow at the New America Foundation, and a weekly columnist for Foreign Policy magazine. From 2009 to 2011, Brooks served as Counselor to the U.S. Under-Secretary of Defense for Policy. From 2001 to 2006 she was an associate professor of law at the University of Virginia, and from 2005 to 2009 she wrote a weekly op-ed column for the Los Angeles Times. Brooks is the author (with Jane Stromseth and David Wippman) of Can Might Make Rights? Building the Rule of Law after Military Interventions (2006). Her next book, By Other Means: How Everything Became War and the Military Became Everything, will appear in 2015.
