Joanne Bauer

Joanne Bauer is Adjunct Professor at the School of International and Public Affairs and the School of Continuing Education at Columbia University, where she also co-leads an international initiative on teaching business and human rights.

From 2006- 2012 she was also Senior Researcher at Business & Human Rights Resource Centre, specializing in East and Southeast Asia, business and HIV/AIDS, and women’s human rights. In 2012, she was appointed a Research Affiliate of the Human Rights Institute, University of Connecticut.

She is co-editor of East Asian Challenge for Human Rights(Cambridge University Press, 1999) and editor of Forging Environmentalism:  Justice, Livelihood, and Contested Environments  (on environmental values and political mobilization in China, India, Japan, and the US)  (ME Sharpe, 2006).
