Jacques E. C. Hymans

Jacques E. C. Hymans is an associate professor in the School of International Relations at the University of Southern California. His first book, The Psychology of Nuclear Proliferation: Identity, Emotions, and Foreign Policy (2006), received the Edgar S. Furniss Award for the best first book in international security studies and the Alexander L. George Award for the best book in political psychology. His second book, Achieving Nuclear Ambitions: Scientists, Politicians, and Proliferation, was published by Cambridge University Press in 2012. Hymans has published articles in such journals as Foreign Affairs, International Security, and Security Studies, and he is a member of the editorial board of The Nonproliferation Review.
