Denise Garcia

Denise Garcia is associate professor in the Department of Political Science and the International Affairs program at Northeastern University and a Nobel Peace Institute Fellow. Her research focuses on international law and on the impact of lethal robotics and artificial intelligence on peace and security, on which she testified in 2016 to the third Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons Meeting of Experts on Lethal Autonomous Weapons Systems at the UN Office in Geneva. In 2016, Garcia was the recipient of Northeastern’s College of Social Sciences and Humanities Outstanding Teaching Award; and each year she teaches a course titled “Global Governance of International Security & the World Politics of Diplomacy” at the United Nations in Geneva.
