David C. Hendrickson

David C. Hendrickson is a professor of political science at Colorado College, where he has taught since 1983. He is the author of seven books, including Union, Nation, Empire: The American Debate over International Relations, 1789–1941 (2009); Peace Pact: The Lost World of the American Founding (2003); and (with Robert W. Tucker) The Imperial Temptation: The New World Order and America’s Purpose (1992). He has written widely for various foreign policy journals, including two earlier contributions to this journal: “In Defense of Realism: A Commentary on Just and Unjust Wars” (1997) and “Preserving the Imbalance of Power” (2003).
