Akira Iriye

Akira Iriye is Charles Warren Professor of American History, Emeritus, Harvard University. He has served as president of the Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations and of the American Historical Association. He is the author of several books dealing with the history of international relations, including Global and Transnational History: The Past, Present, and Future (2013), Global Community: The Role of International Organizations in the Making of the Contemporary World (2002), and Cultural Internationalism and World Order (1997). He is co-editor, with Pierre Yves Saunier, of The Palgrave Dictionary of Transnational History (2009).
